About Firsthand
Firsthand reports on the treatments, pipelines and clinical decisions shaping reproductive and midlife health.
Women’s healthcare is shaped by more than trial results and regulatory announcements. It is also shaped by the people who recognize symptoms, explain treatment choices, manage uncertainty and decide when another kind of care is needed.
Through original reporting, Firsthand examines how emerging evidence and therapies meet clinical practice. It brings particular visibility to frontline clinicians—including nurse practitioners and physician associates—whose expertise is often missing from coverage of women’s healthcare.
Firsthand currently follows endometriosis, menopause, PCOS/PMOS, uterine fibroids and related conditions.
About the writer
I’m a science journalist and healthcare researcher. I started Firsthand because I wanted to understand the people and systems shaping women’s healthcare—and to report what I learn clearly, carefully and directly.
